Rewrite Your Life: Transformation From Page to Stage
Wednesday Evenings, 7-10pm
April 15, 22, 29; May 6, 13 and 20, 2009
Sound Familiar...?
"I start out for the gym, then end up at the bar."
"This economic downturn has turned me upside down."
"Home is where the heart is!?! Then why all the fighting?"
We all tell ourselves and our loved one stories that leave us feeling empowered - and we also tell stories that leave us limited. If you're tired of these kinds of stories, here's a unique approach to creating the life you want...
Rewrite Your Life: Personal Transformation from Page to Stage
In this 6-week series of classes, coaching and collaboration, you will focus on stories from your life that no longer serve you. Using storytelling techniques, we'll guide you to rewrite them into stories that personify a fulfilled version of yourself. Through personalized assignments and guidance, you'll take action in your life to ensure your new stories are true stories. The course completes with you declaring your successes through sharing stories from the stage.
Professional Coaches Christine McHugh and Michael Vav both lead the course - limited to a dozen participants - to ensure you get the attention and support to get real results. Christine and Michael fortify the process with individual coaching sessions for each participant, every week (arranged to fit your schedule). This hybrid of classes, coaching and partner projects has supported participants in creating exciting shifts in their lives, so we're offering it again.
"I felt the potential to transform my old stories of trauma and drama into tales of wisdom, forgiveness, awareness and awakening. I see storytelling as a powerful channel for me to live this transformation. I felt like you both opened a door for me and held my hand as I walked through it.
- Cathy Goerz

"Thank you so much for six amazing, life changing weeks! Your support and care were invaluable, as well as you challenging me, drawing out the best and giving me ammunition for the worst. Your work with the whole group truly touched my heart and soul."

"Christine and Vav manage to facilitate and extract positives that have laid dormant or fallow for a long time. Excavating through the muck of life that befalls us all with both the skill of an archaeologist and the tact of a bulldozer, they change force, and apply just the right amount of humor, fun, love and compassion to turn potential people into kinetic people."
- Norman Carley
The Me Show
Daylong
We will explore identity and persona by writing the STORIES OF OUR LIVES. This is a fantastic first step towards creating a solo theatrical piece for presentation or simply understanding that you are the playwright of your life. Using creativity exercises, improvisation and experiential learning you will have the opportunity to examine the life you have written for yourself up to now and be empowered to create your soul satisfying next act.
The Zen of Improv
Three hours
The most fun you'll ever have in the pursuit of being present. This three hour playshop will use skill building exercises and improvisation games as a mindfulness practice. If you ever wondered why those improv comics can be so flippin’ fast and funny it's because they're not thinking about the past or worrying about the future. And onstage, in front of an audience who's expecting to be entertained, being in the present comes close to a life or death proposition. So take this opportunity out of the limelight to practice what the pros know and find a new way to meditate. Participants have the opportunity to leave very energized with a heightened awareness of living in the moment and how the mind traditionally gets in their way of doing that. This playshop will require the participation of many enlightened lunatics or those aspiring to become such.
The Social Experiment
Three 3 hour playshops utilizing experiential exercises, role-playing and games to increase self-knowledge. Co-Facilitated with Life Coach, Michael Vav
Sample Experiments:
Who Am I and Who's Askin'? : Intentional Identity
Take three hours to explore who you are in the presence of experts, strangers, geniuses and idiots. We'll help you sneak up on the ways you restrict your true self in this experiential game where pillow talk, the confessional and the shrink's secrets meet. Come and simply be yourself - in all of your audacious, uninhibited, unfamiliar glory.
Timelines: Play on the Past, Revel in the Future
Creating a timeline of your life - past, present and future.
Come pin down your past and plan out your future. Come create art from your history and intentions. Come learn shocking and mundane things about friends and strangers. Come outline your autobiography. Come discover what happens when you grab your crotch and call out the name of the person who took your virginity. This experiment will give you a new perspective on your old life and put you in touch with your stories as you tell them to others.
Personality Tests: Limiting Labels
Are personality profiles really just a way for people to gather information about you so that they can get you to give them what they want? YES! So learn all about what you’ve got to give from being an SNTJ to a Social 4 with a highly developed 5 wing.
